These terms and conditions form the basis on which you can order any of our products. Please read them carefully as they contain important information including artwork submissions - variations.

Variation: We change these terms and conditions from time to time and you must check them for changes because they are binding on you.


Requirements for Placing an Order 

By placing an order you hereby agree that:

  • You are at least 18 years old and permitted to enter into a legally binding contract.
  • You have a properly functioning email account and valid email address.
  • You have read the supporting documentation on our website regarding the supply of your artwork.
  • You are not infringing any copyright law.
  • You fully agree to the terms contained in this document and in our privacy policy.


We will send correspondence relating to your order to the email address you provide at the time of ordering. You should ensure your email account is operating correctly for the period during and after completion of your order for the purposes of receiving and acting upon our contractual correspondence.
We recommend that you check your spam filter and junk email folders to ensure emails are not missed or rejected. If at all possible, you should also add Canwill Scales & Labels to your email address book or safe senders list.
We are not obligated to inform you that your email account is inoperable, or that you have missed or provided the wrong email address. It is your responsibility to provide the correct email address.
Once an email has been sent and has left our system, it is deemed to have been delivered to you. We are not responsible for the failed delivery of any email correspondence we send where it is for reasons beyond our control.
In the event of an order dispute caused by our failure to deliver email correspondence, you are entitled to provide evidence that you have not received it for reasons beyond your control.
We are not obligated to provide important correspondence to you by any means other than via your specified email address, although we may choose to do so if we deem it necessary.

The Contract Between Us

The placing of your order constitutes an offer to us to buy a product. All orders are subject to our acceptance. We will confirm our acceptance by sending you an email confirming the order (The Order Confirmation). Our acceptance of your order brings into existence a legally binding contract between us.
You will not have any right to cancel a contract for the supply of printed products because cancellation rights do not apply to the sale of custom-made articles or goods made to a consumer’s specification.

File Submissions

Please note that Canwill Scales & Labels cannot be responsible for:

i)   Spelling, punctuation, or grammatical errors made by you.
ii)   Inferior quality or low-resolution of uploaded / supplied images.
iii)  Design errors or colour selected errors introduced in the artwork file creation process submitted by you.
iv)  Errors in user-selected options such as product type, size, finishing options, or quality.
v)   Incorrect dimensions, image orientation, or file submission.
vi)  Colour match guarantee without a hardcopy proof approval.
vii) Delivery delays due to improperly prepared files.

   Prices, Variations and Designs 

All prices on our website or on our official quotation via email are per design (not multiple designs). Example: If your order is for 600 labels with three different designs (even though same size) your price is based on three different designs, each design say having 200 labels. Prices are also based on information supplied by the client at time of our quotation. All quotations either online or via written quotations sent electronically, will only be accepted and all prices contained within will be subject to sight of your final artwork design / layout. Artwork or designs vary in the amount of coverage of the final printable area and font size, text and colours. To offer the best service we have based all our prices on reasonable labour time, material and fair coverage of print ink. In the event your label requires special print settings or small fonts / details, we reserve the right to advise the client of a price revision prior to executing the order, or after we have produced an actual test print. The client, on receipt of written notification of a price change, has the opportunity to either accept the revised price or the right to cancel their order.

Online Promotions - Special Offers

Any special prices, discounts or promotions shown on our website are only for orders placed and paid for on-line via our website. 

Our Additional Charges - Artwork

If you choose on our website for us to 'Please check our artwork before printing' option and tick the box on the pricing product form option this may incur a charge of R 50.00. We will then advise you of any errors we may have found and you can either make the required changes or request us to action on your behalf.

If you have submitted your own artwork and you also require a 'proof' this we can send as a pdf file to you electronically at an additional charge of R75.00.

If you choose on our website the option 'We design your artwork' we require a detailed brief of your actual requirements along with any images, logos and text you want included within your design. The more information you can supply at this stage you will be saving in proofs and design time. Our artwork fee is based on a reasonable hourly rate of R295.00 which includes one proof and one revision. All future revisions required thereafter will be charged for on a time basis. 


Author’s corrections, including alterations in style, and the cost of additional proofs necessitated by such corrections will be charged extra. Proofs may be submitted for customer’s approval, and in that event no responsibility will be accepted for any errors in them not being corrected by him/her on a signed proof.

Preliminary Work

Work carried out, whether experimentally or otherwise, at customer’s request will be charged for.

Labels on Sheets or Rolls

Our maximum width of print is 200mm in the width.  Your labels are laid out to utilize the least amount of waste therefore saving you money. Sheet labels vary in length (subject to your label size) to a maximum length of 300mm +/-. Sheet labels have a margin of +/- 5mm all-round the outside edge with a gap between labels horizontally and vertically of +/-3mm.
Labels on sheets can either be individual labels, due to their size or in other combinations, due to particular sizes on your label order. At all times if the order or part of the order has to be supplied on smaller sheets, there will always be a backing of 5mm +/- larger than the actual label.
Roll labels the same width applies with side margin +/- 5mm and gap between labels horizontally and vertically of 3mm +/-. The start and end of the roll has 100mm approximately of blank material.
Sheets and rolls - all the surplus matrix is removed leaving only the actual labels on the backing paper to easily remove and apply to your product.
Label widths – e, g if you label was 60mmm in width we would supply these 3 across the material width equally spaced. Likewise if your label was 20mm this would equate to 8 labels across the width. If you need any clarity please contact us.

NB: If you have a particular sheet size or roll size width that is critical to you please advise us either on your online order or via email.

Delivery and Lead Times

Delivery/Lead times are specified in working days, which are Monday to Friday only and exclude weekends and public holidays.
All Delivery/Lead times are estimated and are not guaranteed.
Delivery/Lead times may be extended if you have not supplied suitable artwork at the time of ordering, or if no artwork is provided at all. We cannot process an order without either a payment or suitable artwork.
We shall not be liable to the Buyer or be deemed to be in breach of the Contract by reason of any delay in performing, or any failure to perform, any of the Seller’s obligations in relation to the Goods, if the delay or failure was due to any cause beyond our reasonable control. 


When we agree a refund is applicable or you decide to cancel an order prior to us undertaking any work, a refund will be actioned within 48 hours of receipt of your bank details. If you have paid online using Payfast  any bank / credit card fees will be deducted from your refund. We do not charge when payments are made using these payment methods and therefore we reserve the right to deduct such charges from any refunds. All refunds can only be made to your own dedicated bank account and not credited to your Payfast account. If you cancel an order for whatever reason, there will also be an administration fee of R100 (One Hundred Rand) also deducted from your refund. If the fault lies with Canwill Scales & Labels this administration fee will be waived.


Our site contains links to other sites.These third party sites have separate data collection and privacy policies, which you should review before providing information on these other sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these other sites.

Value Added Tax (VAT)

Canwill Scales & Labels shall be entitled to charge the amount of any V.A.T. payable whether or not included in the quotation or invoice.


Any copyrights not expressly granted herein are reserved. Reproduction, transfer, distribution or storage of part or all of the contents in any form without the prior written permission of Canwill Scales & Labels is prohibited, except in accordance with the following terms:-

Canwill Scales & Labels consents to you browsing Canwill Scales & Labels web pages on your computer or printing copies of extracts from these pages for your personal use only.

The trademarks, service marks, trade names, and images of products represented on our website are protected.

It is an express condition of all orders for the supply of designs, artworks, and prints that the Buyer possesses the full authority and permission of the Copyright Holder or Trade Mark owner to reproduce the design, motif or logo in question. Canwill Scales & Labels supplies such designs, artworks, and prints in good faith and for lawful purposes only. Such supply does NOT constitute a warranty by Canwill Scales & Labels that the design, logo or motif may be reproduced and Canwill Scales & Labels accepts no responsibility for any unauthorised reproduction thereof and the Buyer agrees to indemnify Canwill Scales & Labels in respect of any claim action or demand made against Canwill Scales & Labels in respect of any such breach. Canwill Scales & Labels reserves the right to decline an order if it is believed copyright is being breached or the image is deemed offensive or obscene.

Legal Costs

Canwill Scales & Labels reserves the right to charge any legal and other costs incurred in placing any outstanding accounts into the hands of our Attorney’s or Debt Collection Agencies.


You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Canwill Scales & Labels and its affiliates from and against any and all claims, damages, costs and expenses, including attorneys' fees, arising from or related to your use of the Site. You also certify that you own rights to or have a license to use the image(s) being reproduced as part of your order.


The Buyer’s placement of an order signifies full acceptance of these Terms and Conditions and of the clauses herein.
